After documenting the end of The Crib‘s tenure here at Casa de Scratches, I felt it appropriate to take a look back at its beginning.
This is a picture I took the day Wonder Woman and I brought Zan home from the hospital. After setting that crib up and looking at it every day for several weeks prior to his arrival, it was very exciting and touching and downright terrifying to suddenly have a living, breathing child in there—a child we were expected to raise, despite having very little clue about how to do so.
And here we are, five years and nine months later. The crib has received an honorable discharge, and there are now two walking, talking, potty-trained kids sharing the house with us. My, how things have changed. Fortunately, those changes are mostly for the better. Let’s hope that trend continues.
