the ottoman in you’re your hotel room looks like this. Yes, nothing like dead cow to really spruce up the decor.
Bovine accoutrements notwithstanding, my accomodations here in downtown Austin are rather plush. I’m terribly excited, for example, about the king-size bed … which I plan to get to know oh-so-well over these next few child-free days.

I know exactly what hotel you are in. If you go to the bar, be sure to sit in one of the saddle bar stools. Or not.
I really almost hate to go there, but does the stool have a cow lick on top?
Yep, you are right in the thick of it!
I think I even have a picture of a bride on one of those ottomans…
I love being away from home – for some reason I sleep so good that first night in a hotel! Enjoy…
That’s so funny. I’ve lived in Texas a few times (south of Houston and south of Austin) and have never seen a hotel decorated with quite so much stereotypical Texas flair. It’s interesting because Texans often are offended at the rest of the nation’s schema of Texans riding their horses to work, working on the cattle ranch during the evening, etc., but this hotel chain seems like that’s the image they WANT to portray! Perplexing.
Hope you have a nice time!
Welcome to the great state of Texas!!!
I am a little jealous of the reason you are in Texas!
Now that you are in the Great State of Texas you must:
1.) try Blue Bell’s Moolinium Crunch ice cream
2.) eat several versions of barbeque
3.) say, “y’all” early and often
4.) eat fajitas with carmelized onions even if you don’t think you like onions
Have fun napping.
