Oh my(lar)

Oh my(lar)!

Gather ’round, young whippersnappers, and I’ll tell you about the days when a boy’s birthday balloons would be lying on the floor in a semi-flaccid state mere hours after his party ended instead of being all pert and gravity-defying six days later.

Yeah, I know that mylar balloons aren’t really that new-fangled, but I needed me somethin’ to photograph, and since I stayed up until 2:30 a.m. writing about my my BlogHer meet-up experience, then woke at 7 a.m., I wasn’t feeling quite up to going out on a photo safari.

But, hey, everybody loves balloons, am I right? Plus, that balloon-centric Pixar film “Up!” just came out, didn’t it? So this is kinda like a promotional tie-in. (Hear that Disney/Pixar? I’m promoting your movie. Now let’s talk turkey … and by “turkey,” I mean “Let’s talk about you subsidizing my sleep-deprived ass so I can blog during the day instead of in the middle of the night.” Hey, a guy can dream …)

mmm, well, love the pic, but that’s as close as I ever wanna come to balloons. I am in the minority here, probably, but I DON’T love balloons. So before every toddler b-day party, it’s Momma on a valium.
