It’s in the details

Photo of the Day for November 16, 2009

My marvelous image

Zan decided on a whim the other night that he wanted to pretend he was one of the vendors at Fenway Park, who wear yellow shirts and carry their goods in crates that they rest atop their heads. So, he placed some water bottles and other items in a yellow toy bin, lifted it onto his head and began walking around the room yelling, “Soda, peanuts books! Get your soda, peanuts, books here!” (Hey, the kid likes books. Fine by me.)

Suddenly, he put the bin on the floor and ran upstairs. A few minutes later, he returned wearing jeans, a Red Sox cap and a yellow polo shirt that we quickly noticed he had just finished writing on with a black marker … “Red Sox” on the front, “205″ on the back for the section number at Fenway where he was pretending to do his vending. (Fortunately, the shirt was too small, and was already headed for the shirt graveyard.)

The boy doesn’t do anything half-assed, that’s for sure.

At first, I couldn’t understand what his hand-made shirt was all about. He definitely went all out, even putting his hat on backwards like many of those kids do.
