Facial

Facial

As you look at the picture above, please take note of the scabs around the right-eye and right-cheek areas. They are the result of a performance-art piece Jayna debuted last Thursday called “Face Meets Ice Rink.”

Four-year-old skin heals remarkably fast; the wounds looked much worse when she first came home with them three days before the photo was taken … especially to an overprotective hypochondriac like me, whose first instinct upon seeing his baby girl wounded was to roll both kids up in bubble wrap and never let them leave the house again.

I think I bought up all that bubble wrap, but I’ll share with you.

You know, Jon, Jayna is really very cute. And she’s going to be a knockout when she is a teenager. Having survived the teenage years of three kids, I’ll just say I feel for you. Enjoy them while you can!

–>My 3-year old just had his school pictures taken and the two big bruises on either side of his forehead were hard to hide. I told my husband we need to start knocking him backwards instead of forward. Geesh.

Did you take a photo of her right after? She’s lookin’ good now. I have this pic of me when I was about five after my face hit the pavement (don’t fall off a curb with hands in pockets) and it’s totally scraped, swollen and I have stitches in my lip. Thanks Mom!
