Perspective

Perspective

Wonder Woman was running some errands the other day when she ran into one of the moms we know by way of our children’s daycare, from whom Wonder Woman learned that a girl Zan used to be in daycare with had been diagnosed with leukemia, is undergoing aggressive chemotherapy, and is expected to remain hospitalized for months … assuming she lives that long.

I got laid off a couple days ago. Oddly enough, I’m not all that broken up about it.

I’m sorry to hear about the layoff – particularly in the midst of wanting to move, etc. And I’m really, really sorry to hear about this child – it does make you stop and take stock of what’s truly important.

Yeah, perspective. Has a way of getting you back on your feet again, doesn’t it.

Jon, hang in there. I bet you’ll find something even more awesome than your last gig. Thank goodness you got your vacation out of the way first!

Will be thinking about you and the other little girl. Yes perspective is powerful.

That kind of perspective is equal parts gratefulness- and panic-inducing.

    Yeah . . . that’s perspective alright.

Your son looks JUST like you. And the two women in your life are lovely!

Wow, heart wrenching. You really have your priorities straight. Prayers to the little girl and her family.

My heart goes out to her family. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

We all have so much to be grateful for – every minute of every day. Life is precious and magical and we are all lucky to be here.

That’s without a doubt a parent’s worse nightmare, or one of them, anyway. Thanks for giving me something so real to think about this morning.

The only way I deal with this kind of thing is wondering how we can help prevent other little kids from developing leukemia…

    Pura Vida!

So sorry about your layoff (maybe a blessing in disguise?)
It is amazing how perspective shifts, isn’t it?

I was just directed to your blog because of your pony demand (it’s a common work request of mine, so common that we have a ‘ponies’ bin in our stock room) and was browsing through your other posts. Check out teamintraining.org.
