Earlier this evening, Jayna and I were eating dinner on the porch when a sunshower broke out. I told her we might be able to see a rainbow if we got up from the table and peered over the treetops in our backyard. The photo above is what we saw.
I’ve mentioned how much Jayna loves rainbows, right? But have I also mentioned that, ever since she was old enough to speak, she has expressed that love by frequently singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”?
Today’s blog post comes with some free medical advice: If you don’t find that clip at least a little cute, I urge you to get to an emergency room ASAP … because you’re probably dead.

Any child singing is a wonderful sound when we think of the alternative. (No children to sing) I have a video of my daughter singing a solo for a school program. I made sure when the time came that she went to college since she couldn’t carry a tune, but it was/is still wonderful to watch that video.
Be sure you stash that recording somewhere safe. You’ll want it in the future.
That just started my morning off on the right note! Too cute.

Aw so lovely! Nothing better than a child singing, in tune or out, but your little one gets it spot-on!
Thanks for sharing.
Do you get misty every time she does that? Because she isn’t even my child and as soon as I heard it I got something in my eye. Or both eyes. Stupid eyes.

Nothing magical. Just pointed my Canon Rebel EOS XT at it and took the shot.
Sweet singing gal!! Probably makes up for the world class melt downs you mentioned in her birthday letter. There’s something so moving about her love of rainbows. I’ve thought about it and I’m truly not sure why that is. It is sincerely heart warming though. Maybe the world won’t combust when there are beautiful little girls in it with pretty voices who love rainbows?
